While stories of fortunes made or lost overnite on the futures markets are essentially wrong, the futures trader , if employing a sound trading system, can mostly earn more money on the commodity market and make it much quicker.
The margins for futures contracts act more as a performance bond or good religion deposit while the margin for stocks is more of a loan. Though the margin on futures contracts is sort of tiny, it rides the full cost of the underlying contract as that contract rises or falls, therefore providing the leverage discussed earlier.
This lets you share in the corporation’s profits, and losses, thru dividends, and increases or drops off in the stock’s value. It also gives you certain voting rights with the company. When you purchase and sell futures you are only entering into a contract and do not truly own anything.
If you sell a futures contract before that date you have offset your position and have either a profit or loss on the trade. The stock you purchased three years back is identical stock you should purchase today. Due to this mobility, and because towns are tax-dependent, their capacities for providing stability and expansion for themselves rely on forces over which they have very little control ( Peterson, 1981 ; Kantor & David, 1988 ) ; ( b ) we have today, a fundamentally restructured world economy. As a consequence of this, many Yank towns are suffering the direct aftermath of deindustrialization and disinvestment ( Bluestone & Harrison, 1982 ; Castells, 1985 ; Kasarda, 1980 ). Instead, local presidencies are faced with few informal, and even less formal, connections between themselves ( Perry & Keller, 1991 ; Fletcher, 1993 ). Rather, they are becoming more regional in nature. Futures contracts have expiry dates after which no further trading for that month can happen. They are called back months though they are for future months. When this month expires the following contract month becomes the front month and so on.
